A good quality early 19th century pantograph by Ebsworth.
A boxed brass pantograph engraved Ebsworth, 68 Fleet St, London. There are two Ebsworths, Richard and Thomas, recorded as being at 68 Fleet Street in 1824 - 26. (See Directory of British Scientific Instrument Makers 1550 - 1851, Gloria Clifton)
The pantograph is in very good condition for its age with no apparent damage. The bone(?) wheels are all present although a little dirty. The engraving is crisp.
The mahogany box has a nice patina and comes complete with a working lock and a replacement key.
All accessories appear to be present.
This a very heavy item largely due to the lead weight for the fixed point hence the shipping cost.
