A VERY OLD AND UNUSUAL HANDPAINTED PORCELAIN VASE




This is a beautiful old Vase with a really unusual shape.  It has a nice leaf shape on either side which stand proud from the body and whose stems cross at the base under the painted Lady on the front and there's a leaf at the top all of which show signs of being heavily gilded when new.

I do not know the maker or it's origins but it has the number 185 pressed mark on the base.  I have enclosed photos for your own identification and ageing and it must be 'Bought as seen'.  It certainly seems to have a fair age and a naiviety to it and, in spite of this, the only damage is that the gilding has rubbed away over the years.  The painting on the front is more or less complete, see photos.  There are no chips or cracks at all.

It's approx. 16 cms at its tallest point in the front and across from leaf to leaf it's approx. 12 cms wide.
