Watermill and Leat by I W Benson

Watercolour framed and glazed

Overall size is 43 x 56 cm

Image Size is 28 x 42 cm

A subtle watercolour of a rural watermill with leat, stream and woodland scene.

The painting is in excellent condition and any defect is in my photography rather than the actual painting.

Whilst described as I. W. Benson the signature could easily be J. W. Benson.

Whilst undated and with no title or description to the rear the scene is very typically Devon.

The painting is on card and bears signs of a much earlier framing.

Cream mount. Dark wood frame with gilt slip.

Mount + frame in VGC.  Picture VGC no foxing, fading or marks.

Obviously a talented artist of the William Widgery style, Benson has produced a super painting.
