An Antique French 15 carat Gold and Enamel Box

Description
 
This continental 15ct yellow gold box has a rectangular plain form.
 
The hallmarked hinged cover is inset with a handpainted enamel panel depicting a golfer in full swing in front of mountains and a lake.
 
Bands of dark blue enamel border the cover and the sides of the box.
 
The cover is fitted with a plain shaped thumbpiece.
 
 
Origin: France, Europe
Date: circa 1920
 
Condition
 
This box is an extremely good gauge of gold, very good quality and in excellent condition.
The enamel is beautifully painted and in perfect condition.
There are minor surface scratches in keeping with the age of the box.
The hallmarks struck to the outer rim are clear.  Those to the interior of the box are rubbed but legible.
