What is a Y Cable and why is it important
A Portable Hard Drive requires a certain amount of to power it up. Most computers, PC or Mac, Vista, XP, OSX have high power USB ports so this drive will simply plug into a free USB port and take it's power directly from the port and operate. However some older computers only have low power USB ports. They only push out around 1/2 the power needed to run a portable drive. With the additional Y cable included Free if you find yourself in a position where you need to use the drive on an older computer or one with low power USB ports you simply plug the cable into 2 x Free USB ports, this doubles up the power and means this product will work where many others without this type of cable will not.
