You are bidding for a nicely proportioned oak & mahogany cased 8 day striking painted dial longcase clock dating from the first quarter of the 19th century that has been recently restored to a high standard.
The oak & mahogany case has good Georgian proportions, it is in very good condition with just the usual tiny dent and ding, the case has a very good colour and patina with mahogany crossbanding around the doors and on the hood, reeded pillars on the hood and matching quarter reeded columns on the trunk, the trunk door is fitted with a working lock with key, the hood door also retains the original catch to lock it closed from inside the case.
The 13” painted Wilson style dial is in good original condition, the 8 day plated movement is in good clean condition having been recently restored and runs well keeping good time, the date aperture is also in working order, it strikes the hours on a bell, the hands are original.
The makers name on the dial is, HURST LIVERPOOL.
The clock stands 80.5” tall by 19” wide by 9" deep making it ideal for a smaller cottage style property.
The clock comes with original brass faced pendulum, later cast iron weights and a new winding key.
The clock can be collected from Blackburn in Lancashire or we can deliver and set it up locally for the cost of fuel or it can be sent by specialist antique carrier within the UK for between £70 and £80.
We are happy to ship the clock worldwide, we can have the clock crated up ready for the buyers shipper to collect from us for around £55.00, buyers outside of the UK can arrange their own shipper, who we will be happy to co-operate with or we can arrange packing and shipping to the USA for £400.00 by air to your local airport or Europe for £300 by road, these prices include packing in a purpose made plywood crate and insurance.
We can only accept payment from outside of the UK by direct bank transfer.
Within the UK we can accept payment by cash on collection, cheques, or bank draft, which will have to clear for 10, days before the clock, is released, If the buyer requires us to meet them part way we can do this for the cost of fuel but we would require a small deposit bybank transfer, potal order or cheque before meeting up.
We do not accept paypal on longcase clocks.
