In 1964 John Surtees, who had been driving for Ferrari since 1963, won the Drivers' World Championshiop by a single point from Graham Hill (BRM).  Here Surtees at the wheel of a V8 Tipo 158 car is seen in the British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch.  It was a hard-fought race and Surtees finished third behind Clark (Lotus) and Graham Hill (BRM), while Ferrari team-mate Lorenzo Bandini with a V6 car finished fifth.  This is a superb photograph.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WHOLE CAR (FRONT AND REAR) IS IN THE IMAGE.

Save where it is otherwise stated, all photographs offered by Fotovantage have been produced chemically (no electronic scanning) and have been printed from the original 35mm Tom March negative by the experts in black and white printing at Pinewood Studios.
