Here for reluctant sale is my lovely 1971 AMC Javelin 360 sst. I am moving home so I have to sell quickly hence the low start price. The car has been in the UK since 1977 and I've had it for 4 years although it has been garaged for the last 18 months. After fitting a new battery this week I started it up and began to get it ready. I have replaced the intake with an Edelbrock performer and a 14x3 inch chrome air filter, i've also added new large valve covers and a chrome oil filter cover whilst off road. Fuelling is by a Holley 600 v/s 4 barrel manual choke carb which I replaced new about 3 years ago. I have also added a Flamethrower 45kv coil, Ignitor II electronic ignition in the dizzy and Flamethrower leads. I have also added KYB gas shock absorbers about 2 years ago with new front drums/shoes/hubs. Peviously the car has had hedman headers leading to the dual exhaust via a cherry bomb either side, a Ford 9 inch rear axle, tractionbars (slapper bars), a large set of wheels (steel) which make it look really beefy and bucket seats inside. Other than that the car is standard.

The exterior is best described as a ten footer, not pristine but not too shabby either no dings or holes but a few scratches & the odd blister. All the glass is present and intact. The car is older than me and its body work is fairing better than mine. Inside the car is showing wear as you would expect, but again not too shabby and little work needed to make nice for the fussy.

This is one of the rarer muscle cars around from the era and was built in the same year that Donohue was winning the trans am series in one. If you go to the big shows you will see plenty of the recognisable mustangs, vettes, pontiacs,mopar, but rarely one of these beasts. Yet saying that there are plenty of parts and services available in the uk and across the internet. The car is TAX EXEMPT and insurance is dirt cheap.

The car really isn't for the shy as it attracts attention EVERYWHERE it goes. Its fast, loud and attractive.
