The items for auction is a POWER AMPLIFIER UNIT removed from a working MOD RAF UHF transceiver.
The valve is a NEW JAN 7609 (this is the latest MOD version of the 4x150D) plugged into a UHF socket made by Eimac( MOD part 593599 945 6451 ) . The small valve is a driver(6j4WA).
Very clean condition and just serviced by the MOD before storage.
Originally this amp covers 239.99 to 399.99 MHz, to convert to a 70c.m. the output cct will only require the removal of one vane of the anode tuning cap and in the unit I converted I changed the input to passive grid. It is shown with the anode cover removed, the cover is included in the sale.
With 2KV on the anode, 250 on the screen and 3W of drive I get 300W P.E.P. output. Very high quality and made in the UK by Plessey for the MOD. If you buy more than one of my auctions please contact me before paying as I will pack items together to save on postage costs.
The 7609 /4x150 tube in this unit is NEW and can be returned for refund or replacement if faulty.
