60’s Teak Armchair, footstool/coffee table

A super cool 60’s (20^th November 1969) ‘Guy Rogers’ Armchair in sold, rich, conker coloured Teak, from the ‘Virginian’ range designed by George Fryer and Eric Pamphilon (Director of Design).

What a chair!!!  So comfortable with man-sized proportions, long sleek supporting arms, soft luxury seat & back making it wonderful to sit in.  The headrest fits the nape of the neck perfectly and there’s an internal lumber support for the lower back.

Beautifully manufactured frame, simply stunning design detail, thick chunky uprights supporting the curvy body.

Also included is this superb matching extremely versatile footstool/coffee table…Eric Pamphilon was a design legend in the 60’s the items he designed for ‘Guy Rogers’ were truly superb…giving the Danish designers something to think about!  He was always great at designing ‘multi-purpose’ Teak furniture in the ‘Danish Modern’ style.  This footstool/coffee table has been made with identical proportions to the chair and it’s very simple to have it as a fantastic coffee table with beautiful grain detail or simply replace the cushion offering you a perfect lounger/footstool combination perfect for those few and far between chill out days!

We’ve fully re-stored and re-upholstered both pieces so condition is ‘as new’.  The Teak frame has been cleaned and re-finished using Teak oil and we’ve re-stored the coffee table top, we’ve also used new webbing and foam interiors and we’ve upholstered it using a fantastic dark Grey wool/felt which was hand woven in England and has the most amazing texture (retails at £60 per mtr).  Samples are available upon request.

Obviously these pieces are 40 years old so do bare a few age related marks but they do nothing to detract from the fact that these pieces are in excellent condition and a definite talking point that would compliment any interior.
