Features 8 MB buffer and 5400 rpm rotational speed.Drive was erased and tested(not just formatted) prior to install of WIN-XP PRO. Fujitsu DIAG passed with no errors. Drive is mounted in standard caddy for easy swap-out.

OS Software installed:Windows XP PRO w/SP3(latest drivers are installed). Legal IBM COA is affixed to the bottom of the laptop.Software is activated and includes ALL available Microsoft updates as of 11-2-09. XP is configured to run reliably with or without battery.

MEM cover includeds OEM WIN XP PRO COA.

**IBM has not provided full BIOS support for the installed speed-step CPU. I have worked with these CPU's extensively in 600x machines and do not consider this to be of any concern::because of this BIOS issue the  system mat hang with a blinking cursor during boot(depending on battery state); if this happens simply press Fn and F2 keys together for immediate boot into XP

Battery Upgrade Included for "Buy-it Now" Purchase: Use BIN and the laptop battery will be upgraded to a 4400mAh replacement unit that is in very good shape;holds 80-% of original capacity, enough to power the laptop for 50-90 minutes, depending on CPU load. Recharge time for this battery is 2 hours. Please note this is a replacement battery(not IBM OEM) as such laptop should mounted on cooling platform if using full term battery power on a desktop(this is for cooling and is only required for full term battery runs on a desktop).
