Jewellery Designer - Adrian Lebetkin

Adrian Lebetkin began his jewellery career in the workshop of Andrew Grima. By the age of 24 he opened his own shop in central London, designing for clients including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana and  and acting as supplier to Cartier, Asprey & Garrard, Fred Leighton and Neiman Marcus.

The Cupola Collection

The central theme is the architecture of Russia and the unique Cupola shape  of Russian rooftops. Semi precious stone beads and brilliant faceted synthetic beads falling in freeform add colour and contrast to the Cupola shapes.

‘Tsar Quality’

By Vinny Lee

The Sunday Express Magazine

Designer Adrian Lebetkin designs bold , simple shapes, intricate hand engraving and a dash of Russian inspiration to create a unique range of jewellery.

The name of Lebetkin was associated with priceless royal jewels during the reign of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. Today, London-based jewellery designer Adrian Lebetkin is reviving the tradition begun by his great-grandfather with a range of Russian-inspired jewellery, but at prices that won’t restrict it to royalty.

Adrian Lebetkin recalls his Russian  great-grandfather and the influence he has had on his work  ‘Ivan Sergejewitsch Lebetkin, my great-grandfather, was Assay Master in Russia before the revolution. His assay mark, which showed the quality and quantity of precious metals used in a piece of jewellery, can be found on much of the magnificent work of Carl Faberge, the Imperial Russian jeweller. Faberge made many ornate objects, including the famous jewelled eggs that members of the European royal families used to give to each other.

The Cupola collection is inspired by the gilded cupolas or onion-shaped domes so typical of Russian architecture and often seen glittering in the sunlight on travel posters and post cards of St Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow’s Red Square. The pointed dome shapes are used to create earrings, a clasp brooch, a pendant, necklace and two styles of bracelet. Hanging ropes of beads and semi precious stones are removable from the earrings so that the clips and clasps can be worn plain for day wear or with the beads and stones for evening wear or for more glamorous occasions.
