Why choose down?

Down lies closer to the body of the bird than feathers and is its main insualtion. unlike the feather, down has no quill and is therefore lighter, wamer and softer. Each ounce of high quality down has about 2 million fluffy filaments that interlock and overlap to form a protective layer of still air that keeps warmth in and cold out. Loft is the height of the filling and its ability to trap air pockets. The higher the loft, the more air is trapped and the warmer the duvet. Down has the greatest loft of all fillings.

The Construction

 Constructed with hand stitched interior baffle walls, these walls restrict the movement of the filling and allow it utmost expansion, offering maximum warmth for minimum weight.

Hygiene

All down is dedusted, washed, dried and processed at extremely high tempratures (up to 110c) to ensure maximum hygiene levels. Puffafill products have been awarded the 'Oeko-Tex Standard 100' that certifies that they are hygienic and that the manufacturing process is safe.
