6 SMALL "CROWN" STAFFORDSHIRE FINE BONE CHINA COFFEE MUGS AND SAUCERS

These are 6 Small Staffordshire Fine Bone China Coffee Mugs and Saucers.

The mugs measure almost 2.5 inches tall by 2 inches wide. The saucers are 5 inches diameter.

These have bird designs in black (rather similar to etchings) on a white backgound, all under the glaze. They are beautifully detailed and have hand written names of the birds on the bases of the mugs and also "By Thomas Bewick" painted on the base. The birds on the mugs are, "The Ring Dove", "The Fieldfare", "The Yellow Wren", "The Lesser Redpole", "The Jay" and "The Roller".

Unfortunately there are 2 mugs, each of which has one hairline crack (one crack is much lighter than the other). Each mug is edged in gold on the rim and handle and the gold rim is around each saucer.

This is a very unusual and charming set.
