Fibrocem is a mortar based compound with very fine aggregate to give a very smooth finish, way better then ever achievable by sand/cement mix. But the benefits dont stop there; It's impact resistant, resists water absorption and is fibre reinforced and is rather unlikey to crack.

This material, in a slightly modified condition, is used on Prison Walls to stop convicts digging their way out its that hard! So if you don't want to use plaster and mortar is too slow or too weak, Fibrocem is a great product. You don't have to seal it either to be weather proof! The bag is all pre-mixed and all you need to do is add water in a similar way to mixing plaster to avoid lumps. It will set in around an hour or so, we advise demould in 2-3 hours. Mortar of course takes hours longer than this and its not as strong!

When set its a little lighter than mortar, in fact it resembles portland stone quite well, and can be pigmented with Cementone mortar pigment available from local builders merchants. Item is supplied in plastic bag sealed both ends with bag ties not in bag shown below. We have other plasters and casting media available, including Herculite 2 , Herculite Premium, Polymer Plaster, Fine Casting Plaster of Paris and Crystalcal R, which is almost dental grade in its hardness.
