Exceptionally impressive bed dating from around 1850.
In renaisance style, heavily carved walnut depicting angels &cherubs .The footboard has carved scenes. Foliage fretwork abounds and the headboard features a "peeking" angel - the small head peeking out from the headboard, watching over the left hand side of the bed (see photographs).
It is hard to emphasise just how high the quality is, but this is certainly one of the best of its type we have seen.
The bed comes with a pair of substantial bedside cabinets which are of later origin but match beautifully.
