55mm Front LENS CAP for CANON AE1, AE1 Program - NEW

Canon fit 55mm Snap-on Lens Cap

Fits the standard 50mm lens that comes with many Canon AE-1, and A1 cameras.  This cap will not fit the Canon EF 18-55mm lens found on many Canon EOS Digital models. Please see the note below regarding fit.

Brand new and embossed with the Canon logo this lens cover will fit any lens with a 55mm filter thread size.  This thread size was more commonly used on Canon's old style manual focus lenses with an FD style lens mount.

Regarding fit:  Canon made two different 50mm lenses that came standard with the AE-1, one takes a 55mm lens cap the other takes a 52mm lens cap.  The easiest way to tell the difference is in how you remove the lens from the camera body.  If you need to turn a stainless steel ring to remove the lens you need this 55mm lens cap.  If you need to push a button to remove the lens then you need a 52mm lens cap.  I do stock the 52mm size.  If you are looking for a front lens cap for the EF 18-55mm lens found on many Canon EOS Digital models you will need a 58mm cap.
