Also known as the Bay rose berries, this is not a true pepper but gets often mixed with other varieties for peppermills. On its own it has a delicate sweet, fruity taste with a lingering moderate heat

Excellent addition in Au poivre sauce, or try adding some to butter for a simple sauce to serve with fish, chicken or steak
