WHY BUY ALIEN?
 
 
You would be buying a kit from someone who's put together complete bikes and kits for over two years - please see my past listings and feedback.    I know what the drawbacks are in many electric bikes, weight, battery technology, quality issues etc. and with this kit I think I've eliminated pretty much all of them.
 
The kit is brand new to the UK market and I've tried to keep it at a price which I believe is extremely good value without cutting corners.
 
So, if you're in the market for a kit to convert your own bike to electric you won't find much better than these - especially at this price.   However, if you can't be bothered doing a bit of DIY, please see my other listings and buy yourself one I prepared earlier!

THE KIT
 
 
Convert your own 26" bike with this easy to assemble Front Wheel Drive 36 Volt 500W Off Road Only Conversion Kit.
 

The first thing to say about these kits is that they would immediately make your bike illegal to use on the Queen's Highway!   I therefore cannot recommend their use on bikes which will be used on public roads or in any way condone such action!

Electric Bicycle Kit

 
Now we've got that out of the way, these 36v kits are very,very quick!  The 500w kit comes with a 20A controller or please see my other listings for a 1000w kit with a 25A controller - just have a look at the size of the controllers and you can see we're talking serious kit here!  Each kit is capable of taking you and your bike to way more than 20mph and the 1000w will, in fact, take you over 30mph!

 The battery system consists of three lead acid batteries which are housed in a removable, plastic case which is mounted on a rear rack.  The casing normally also contains the controller and key switch but since I've upgraded the specification of the controller it now sits in a separate bag.  Overall, this provides a similar solution to the 36v road legal kits  i.e. removable battery pack for charging on the bike or of it, but this is, of course, quite a bit cheaper.

There is only one difference in that, on the road legal kits, I provide a 12 months warranty on the batteries.  Because these kits take so much more power than a 15Ah, 250w system I am providing a six month warranty on the batteries.  The other components are twelve months as normal.

The kit comes with a twist type throttle, contains the pedelec (pedal assist) components and comes with a rather smart integrated twin headlight and battery meter unit.  Please note that the pedelec function is almost redundant and you are, in my opinion, better off not bothering to install it!

The kit comes with everything (please see below) you need to convert your bike including full and detailed instructions with easy to follow pictures!!   (Took the pictures myself so no strange "lost in translation" Chinese words either!)

 

KIT SPECIFICATION

  • Expected Range: 15 - 20 Miles (NB: totally dependent upon the weight of the rider and whether it's flat, hilly etc. and also how fast you go!)
  • Speed: 20-30 Mph under Throttle (UK Legal Max is 15mph)

Notes:  The width required between the forks to allow the motor wheel to fit is 100mm.  If your forks taper, you need a minimum of 85mm at the narrowest point.  The kit is for V brakes as there is no integral fitment for a disc.   Bar diameter for fitment of throttle is standard 22mm.

Plese note that because this kit uses a rear mounted battery carrier it has been impossible to design a universal fit as some bikes have lugs on the frame below the seat for mounting the carrier arms, some don't.  You will therefore need to be a bit mechanically minded to fit this kit and may need additional fittings such as nuts and bolts over and above those supplied.  Also, this kit is not for the faint hearted and you will have to be absolutely certain that your bike is capable of handling the power provided.

I've chosen a front wheel conversion rather than a rear wheel because you are then free to use your existing gearing and the complete back end can stay as it is. The sealed controller is enclosed and up high and away from most of the British weather.
 
AND THE MAIN ADVANTAGE IS...........I'M A LIVING BREATHING PERSON IN THE UK AND NOT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD!   I BELIEVE I HAVE AN EXCELLENT REPUTATION FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I INTEND TO KEEP IT!   AND, I ALSO INTEND TO STILL BE IN BUSINESS WHEN ALL THE OTHERS HAVE COME AND GONE!  OH, BY THE WAY, IF YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED YET, THE PRICE OF THE KIT IS PRETTY GOOD AS WELL!
