Many of our customers get confused by the various thicknesses of the polythene materials which our bags are made of and often ask us to explain. . .

Polythene is measured in Gauge - Here is a rough example of the types of gauges which most of our bags are made of:

90 Gauge : Very clear material but is considered to be of Light Duty Strength

- as used by Dry Cleaners to wrap Blackets to protect from dust etc

120 Gauge : Strong Bag - Medium Duty Strength - as used to package 2.5kg of Potatoes

200 Gauge - Stronger Again - Good Quality Strength - this thickness is normally used for Carrier Bag Film

250 Gauge - Very Strong - This thickness is normally used to make polythene sacks

500 Gauge - Very Very Strong - This material is normally used for Coal Sacks

Most of our bags are available in 50, 100, 200, 250, 500 & 1000 Lots.

Bottom Welded - For uses such as transporting Fish

Water Tight - For uses such as transporting Fish

Perforated - a series of holes within the film to allow the product inside to breathe - Such as bakery products etc etc.
