5 Volt Fan - Digifusion FVRT100,FVRT150,FVRT200,+ NOTES

NEW Ultra Thin (5.5mm excl. mountings), 40 x 37 x 7mm (overall size) 5 Volt DC - 0.14A (140mA) Open Frame Cooling Fan - Kit (see picture).

I have successfully used these fans as replacements for noisy or faulty fans in... Digifusion (Fusion) PVR Digital Freeview recorder boxes including FVRT100, FVRT145, FVRT150 and FVRT200.

It has been difficult to find a 5 Volt fan slim enough to fit the Digifusion boxes, but I have fitted these fans in the FVRT range of Digital Freeview Recorders, They had become more and more noisy as the factory fitted fans wore out, now they are quiet again, and I can get some sleep!

The fan is not quite a direct plug in replacement for the Digifusion one, I supply the fan with a connector block and requires the lead and plug from the old fan to extend the supplied lead and provide the correct plug. You can use the connector block supplied (no soldering required) or solder the leads (if you have and have used a soldering iron).

This auction is for the supply of the fan and connector kit only, what you do with them is up to you, so no bad feedback. You will need to open your digibox to fit the new fan, it is quite a simple job to do and the results are worth it.

I am happy to supply notes and pictures showing how I fitted the new fan in my equipment, but I stress these notes are not part of this auction and you must request them by email or with your PayPal payment, they will be emailed to you (as a PDF file) after you have left feedback regarding the supply of the fan.

The fan supplied is new and carefully packaged it comes complete with a miniature connector block, insulated sleeving and spacer washers (required), the kit contains all the parts you will need to get your Digifusion FVRT quiet again (no soldering required). As stated above full fitting instructions are available for the FVRT range of PVR's.

This high quality open frame fan also has many other uses, its thin low-profile construction means it will fit where many 'standard' 10mm fans will not. It measures 40mm x 37mm and the fixing hole centers are 33mm x 30mm the fan is just 5.5mm deep (7mm including mountings). It can also be used on a 12 volt supply but will of course need a voltage dropping resistor in series with it, a 50 ohm resistor is about right, (two 100 ohm 0.6 watt resistors in parallel should give sufficient power rating), please check these values...

Please note NO resistors are needed in the Digifusion FVRT boxes.

Replacing a noisy fan will make your unit quieter, it may also help solve overheating problems if the original fan has stopped running or is turning slowly.

These fans are new and were originally purchased for a project that I was designing; after a change of plan... I now find I have a number of these fans surplus to my requirements, they work really well in the Digifusion FVRT's and also have many other uses.
