MORE Lord of the Rings figures can be found in our Ebay Shop.

FROM SERIES: The Black Sword Series

THIS IS AN OUT OF PRODUCTION SET OF 4 BLISTER PACKED MINIATURES.

Due to license restrictions Mithril cannot sell these miniatures through their official website so this is the ONLY place to locate them. These are very limited stock.

We do have more listings on the 2nd series 'The Black Sword' and these blisters also contain Turin characters. There are eight blisters available (2 sets) in our Ebay Shop. We also have a set of four blisters from the earlier Tales of Turin Series.

Turin Turambar is a major figure from JRR Tolkien’s legendarium concerning the First Age of Middle-earth. Turin’s story can almost be paraphrased by a short passage in The Silmarillion: “Turin grew strong and fair in Doriath, but he was marked with sorrow”.

Who is Turin?

He was the son of Hurin and Morwen. Morwen sent Turin to safety in Doriath, where he was fostered by Thingol. Turin fought beside Beleg in the marches of Doriath. He quarreled with Saeros and killed him when he returned to Menegroth. This caused him to flee and become an outlaw leader south of the River Teiglin. Beleg found him after a year and told him he could return but he refused. Turin captured Mim, who led him to the refuge of Bar-en-Danwedh on Amon Rudh. That winter he was rejoined by Beleg, and the Two Captains cleared the area of Orcs. Turin renamed himself Gorthol, for he wore the Dragon-helm of Dor-lomin (shown in M238) which Beleg had brought him, and the land he patrolled was named Dor-Cuarthol after the Helm of Turin and the Bow of Beleg. The story continues and is very tragic and heroic, partly due to the curse the Morgoth had lain on him.

Who were Brandir and Niniel?

He was a Chieftain of the Folk of Haleth in the First Age. Brandir was the son of Handir of Brethil and was descended from the Houses of Haleth and Hador through his grandparents Haldir and Glóredhel. He was lame since a misadventure in childhood; he was no man of war and "gentle in mood, loving wood rather than metal, and the knowledge of things that grow in earth rather than other lore"

When Túrin Turambar was brought unconscious to Amon Obel, Brandir prophesied that he will be "the last bane of their people", but still tended him with care. Later Brandir also accepted Níniel, whom he secretly fell in love with; but she called him brother, for Níniel's heart was given to Turambar, and soon they were wedded.

Nienor Niniel was the third child of Húrin Thalion, Lord of House of Hador, and Morwen Eledhwen of the House of Bëor. Nienor "was tall, and her eyes were blue, her hair fine gold, the very likeness in woman's form of Húrin her father.

What was Angband?

Angband (Sindarin for 'iron prison') is the name of the fortress of Melkor (Morgoth), constructed before the First Age, located in the Iron Mountains in the enemy's land Dor Daedeloth north of Beleriand.

Tales

These are examples of the four blister packs.

This will make an excellent addition to any diorama, painted scene or display of Tolkien Lord of the Rings figures. It was designed by well known Mithril sculptor Chris Tubb.
