 4GB SDHC Memory Card with Xubuntu 7.10 loaded - for use in Asus Eee.




Preloaded with Xubuntu 7.10 - Which uses the XFCE interface rather than Gnome - this 4GB SD card turns your Eee into a Wireless Network Interrogation Station. Normally, when you load Ubuntu on your own Eee, the WiFi adapter won't work without plenty of tweaking - with this card it's all done for you. We've also loaded WiFi-Radar, Aircrack, Kismet & Wireshark - and they all work correctly.

This build of Xubuntu is the complete full install, it's not just a USB 'Live' version - which has to uncompress itself at startup.

All the latest patches have been downloaded and applied. The full system takes up 2.5GB of the card, 500MB is set aside as swop space, so that leaves 1GB of free user space on the SD card. We guarantee this card is free from viruses, rootkits & other malware.

We have installed the latest Eee specific patches & upgrades. Wifi-Radar makes selecting a wireless network simple & the latest Firefox will keep you secure. Just to be clear - this item is a memory card, and not an Asus Eee. (someone always asks)
It slots into the SD card socket on the right of an Eee. The Eee can then boot from it, as if it were a hard drive. The SD card is brand-new with manufacturers warranty, we only open them to load the software.

This SD-HC card is brand-new with Kingston's 'Lifetime' warranty - we only open them to load the software. This is the high-speed class 6 card, and has the fastest data transfer speed available. It shouldn't be confused with the slower class 2 & 4 cards, which may be great for cameras, but aren't much use as a pseudo-hard-disc. All SD cards are tried in our own Eee before being posted. If you get bored of Xubuntu you can always reformat the card!
