Offered for auction is a superb Federal 400mm f6.3 super telephoto lens complete with a high quality EMC 2x converter. The items are in really excellent optical and cosmetic condition and are suitable for both film and digital SLR cameras.

*The lens has an M42 Pentax threaded mount, if required I can supply an adaptor (not included) enabling this lens to fit the full range of Canon EOS and Pentax K film and digital cameras – please see my other listings. Focussing will be manually operated and metering will be operational in Av, P and M modes - some exposure compensation may be required. With the Pentax K adapter infinity focus isn't quite achieved.

This is a very high quality alloy bodied lens with coated lens elements for excellent contrast and definition.

For guidance I have included pictures taken with a standard 50mm lens and then with this set up, at 400mm and 800mm, from the same position, to show the level of magnification on offer.

With a focal length on offer of 800mm, and up to the equivalent of 1280mm!!! on digital cameras this is an ideal lens for sports, wildlife, or astronomy use, and will enable the user to get up close to the action.

The sale is complete with front and rear lens caps and case for both items, the lens incorporates a rotating tripod mount.

Condition: The front and rear lens elements are in superb clear bright unmarked condition free from misting, and there are no signs of fungus or ghosting on the internal elements, a few dust specks are visible though these are insignificant.

The focus ring operates smoothly, and the aperture ring functions correctly, the aperture blades are clean and move smoothly without hindrance.

The lens barrel is in excellent condition with hardly any signs of previous use.

The converter is in excellent all round condition.
