These RAM batteries are not readily available in the UK, so I recently had to import a batch for use with my Metz photographic equipment. I can certainly confirm they work fine. RAM batteries also work very well with my childrens' toys...but that's a different story!

For certain applications, rechargeable alkalines (RAM) cells offer a compromise between single-use primary alkaline and NiMH cells, since they have a higher voltage and lower self-discharge during storage than NiMH. They also offer the added benefit of containing no added carcinogenic Mercury or Cadmium to pollute the environment when disposed of.

Other rechargeable batteries, such as NiCd and NiMH batteries, have a very high rate of self-discharge resulting in the batteries often being empty when needed. Rechargeable Alkalines keep their charge for YEARS and are always ready to use.

Rechargeable Alkalines perform best in low to medium drain devices such as portable radios, CD players, torches, remote controls, handheld electronic games etc.

Rechargeable alkalines do not suffer the "memory effect" of other types of rechargeable cells BUT DO REQUIRE AN ALKALINE CHARGER. These chargers are available from my other listing , if required.

NEVER charge any alkaline battery using conventional NiCd or NiMH chargers which apply constant current without any voltage regulation. A Rechargeable Alkaline would leak/vent in this type of charger, making the battery useless!!
