Set of four large 1, 5, 10 and 25 micron washable WVO bio diesel filters, fully welded construction, top quality item from, form supplier who have very exact standards and tolerance, used in the production of sugar and in the brewery industry. but also ideal for cleaning waste vegtable oil to used as fuel, in diesel engine.
800mm 31.5 inchs long and diameter 180mm 7inchs. fully welded construction,with ridgid suporting ring. can be hung one filter within the other for a single pass filtering setup.
These give very large filtration area, so do not block up quickly like the much small filter bags found elsewhere on eBay!! They can be hung from the rigid support ring and filled, allowing the oil to filter through under its own weight. They are welded seams construction so do not let unfiltered oil to run through the stitching holes.
We were told that car standard fuel filters typically filter to 10 microns, so we thought if we filter the WVO to 5 microns we would be getting all the partials out of that would cause problem. Don’t believe it, we have now blocked 3 fuel filters in 3000 miles. That is why I would recommend filtering down to 1 micron, and we are not blocking fuel filters any more.
I believe these large filters are much easier to use, our method is simple, we hang the 4 (one inside the other) filters above a standard 20L plastic storage barrel with small funnel in barrel. We pour 20l of used vegetable into the hanging filter bags and watch golden clean fuel flowing from the filters into the container below. Go and have a cup of tea. Come back and tip the full barrel of clean oil into the fuel tank of the car.
Some of the used oil we get is a bit dirty so we put cooking type sieve mesh (99p from Tesco) on top of filter pile to catch bits of batter and small chips, saves the 25 micron from being washed so often.
We also have the 7 inch variety of these filters, for those of you who hang the filters into large oil drum type filtering set up. even if you let the longer filters protrude into the barrel they will still filter in the same way and you get far more filter area for your money.
