What You Get The Dolphin is a 4 recess mounting sensor high quality system that will cover the widest of cars giving a professional finish. Included with the 4 recess sensors is a buzzer which gives audible bleeps with increasing frequency as you get closer to an obstacle.
How it works The system works by radiating ultrasonic beams covering the area behind the vehicle. The beams are reflected by obstructions behind the vehicle, and re-enter the sensors. The reflected beam information is processed to calculate the distance of the obstruction.
As with the other systems the Dolphin unit is activated when reverse gear is engaged. As the vehicle is reversed. When the vehicle is less than 1.5 metres from the obstruction the audible alert will emit intermittent bleeps. As the vehicle gets closer to the obstruction the frequency of the bleeps increases. At 40 centimetres from the obstruction the bleeps become a continuous solid tone.

Optional Wedge Included This system comes with an optional wedge, giving greater flexibility according to the shape of your bumper. The wedge can be used if your bumper is slightly angled up- or downwards, to ensure the sensor's signal is still sent out parallel with the road's surface. If your bumper is vertical, then the wedge can be removed to flush-mount the sensors instead. See pictures below.

These are designed for self installation but we work with a network of nationwide installation companies who can fit these for you should you wish not to attempt it yourself. They will charge come to your home or place of work to fit and charge between £60-£80. Alternatively a main dealer will charge approx £150 but this can come down if you have them fitted at the same time as a service etc. Full details come supplied with the kits.
These parking systems can also be fitted to the front of the car. If you want front and rear parking sensors our experience has been that it is easier to fit 2 separate kits as this saves you from the issues of having to installing cables all the way from the front of the car to the rear. The rear parking sensors can remain automatically switched via the reversing light and the front sensors can be switched on when required.
Maintenance No routine maintenance or adjustment is required. Dirt, frost or snow accumulated on the sensors may cause the system to activate incorrectly. Clean carefully with a soft cloth. Do not use chemicals or spirits. Applying hot water in frozen conditions may damage the sensors. The sensors can be washed carefully with warm soapy water
