4.9" Megalodon Tooth
Superb Hawthorne formation specimen
A great sized Megalodon tooth measuring 4.9", from the Hawthorne Formation, USA, dating from the Pliocene around 4,000,000 years ago. An absolutely superb piece. Excellent overall geometry and superb colouring of the near complete enamel. An ideal specimen for someone looking for a large, high quality specimen with optimal "bang for your buck".

The conditions were horrendous at best! Visibility was for the majority little more than 6 inches, with 30lbs of Lead weighting necessary with the strong tidal currents of the river. Add to this the threat of Bullsharks and other nasties and you have an appreciation of the tremendous effort involved in sourcing these very special fossils!
