300/480mm M42 TELEPHOTO LENS FITS PENTAX K, CANON EOS*

Offered for auction is a superb Optomax 300mm f5.5 automatic telephoto lens in Pentax M42 mount. The item is in excellent optical and cosmetic condition and is suitable for film and digital SLR cameras in manual modes.

*The lens has an M42 Pentax threaded mount, if required I can supply an adaptor (not included) enabling this lens to fit the full range of Canon EOS and Pentax K film and digital cameras – please see my other listings. Focussing will be manually operated and metering will be operational in Av, P and M modes - some exposure compensation may be required. With some Pentax K adapters infinity focus isn't quite achieved.

With a focal length on offer of 300mm and up to the equivalent of 480mm!!! on digital cameras, this lens is ideal for sports or wildlife use, and will enable the user to get up close to the action. I have included a comparison with a standard 50mm lens from the same spot.

The sale is complete with front/rear lens caps and the lens incorporates a rotating tripod mount.

Condition: The front and rear lens elements are in clear bright unmarked condition.

There is no sign of fungus or ghosting on the internal lens elements, a few small dust fragments may be visible internally but these won’t affect optical performance.

The focus ring operates smoothly and the aperture ring functions correctly, the aperture blades close down freely without hindrance.

The lens barrel is in excellent condition, with no obvious signs of use.
