The new Fox Stratos 12000e Graphite range has been designed to be the ultimate workhorse, two Big Pit reels that simply won’t let you down. Fox consultant Ian Chillcott even managed to land a 50lb conger eel with the reels, proof that the Stratos 12000e range has more than enough power to tame the biggest of carp!

Both 12000e models – the FS12000e with a free spool facility and the non-free spool 12000e - incorporate the same Stratos 12000 technology that has made the MAGs such a success. These really are two very ‘special’ reels that sell at a price that will amaze.

Fox Free Spool System on FS12000e model
This system instantly disengages the spool from the main drive. This allows the reel to smoothly give line to fast running fish. The Free Spool System has a micro-adjustment that can be tensioned to suit every situation.

13 Ball Bearings on 12000e model, 16 Ball Bearings on FS12000e model
The more ball bearings in the reel, the better it will perform when under immense pressure from a big fish – simple! The ball bearings also help the reel last longer. Take a few moments to see how many ball bearings are in other leading manufacturers’ reels, and you’ll soon understand why we’re claiming the 12000e range has ‘more balls than the opposition’!

Oversized Roller Bearing
This is the secret to the reels’ strength, the bearing comprises of eight stainless steel larger diameter rollers held within a tough glass filled nylon housing. The roller bearing is also supported by two large stainless steel ball bearings which will gives the reel a super smooth feel. On the bank this means the reel is a joy to use for many long retrieves after spodding. When playing a fish you have the power to control and the smoothness to feel what is going on.

Graphite Body
The Graphite body used on these reels is super durable but also amazingly lightweight. The FS model weighs 810 grams and the non-free spool 12000e is just 670 grams. This helps create a more balanced set-up!

Slow Oscillation
The slow oscillating spool wraps line neatly around the spool. This creates smaller gaps between each coil of line meaning less friction is generated on a cast so the line lightly peels away - you can see this when you watch the spool during a cast. If we had a standard oscillation you can get a more jerky cast, this is especially noticeable with braid. Also a slower oscillation builds parallel layers of line up, so when the spool is filled to the top of the spool you get that even flat profile. Again this reduces the friction during a cast as the line flows off the spool – ultimately it will help you cast further than ever before!

Twist Free Roller
This special shaped line roller runs on a high performance bearing that not only dramatically reduces inherent line twist but actually prolongs the life expectancy and breaking strain of the line. Eliminating line twist also promotes good line management for longer and smoother casting.

Clutch Grit Guard
A Grit Guard is fitted underneath the drag knob on the spool. This prevents grit, groundbait/spod mix ad water ingress entering the clutch plates which can seriously effect the efficiency and longevity of the drag.

Mesh-Tech Gearing
The internal gear train has been critically balanced and adjusted to achieve the ultimate gear meshing. This results in a more powerful, smoother and play free mechanism.
