This is an excellent chance to grow your own edible chestnut trees.Just like the ones featured on The Wild Gourmets Channel 4 programme.

A quick growing tree which will thrive in any soil and can stand sun or shade.

Beautiful white flowers in spring followed by Delicious Nuts in Autumn which can be roasted or stewed.

These plants make a beautiful hedge as well and can be coppiced for Chestnut Stakes.

When the plants arrive they can be planted in a well dug over hole with rotted manure or any other organic fertiliser.If they are not being planted immediately,unwrap and place the bunch in a hole filled with sand or soil.Don't steep in water for longer than 30 minutes as this can destroy the roots.
