Jose Tonito Rodriguez
artist: Jose Tonito Rodriguez
title: "Harold" signed, titled behind every picture. THIS IS A SET OF 3 PICTURES AND ALL ARE DIFFERENT SIZES.
The pictures are related and for that reason I decided to sell the three photographs together. The name of the homeless is Harold.
-All photographs are printed on fiber paper. These are vintage photos printed by the artist.
-The first photograph is Harold in 1984. He looks homeless and he probably was for some time. This was the beginning of the series.
Many of his photographs were published as part of a Miami homeless article and the images were used by a few organizations that
were helping and feeding the homeless. This photograph measures 8x12 inches and is signed and titled in pencil "Harold,1984" in the back.
-The second photograph was taken a year later. Harold hair is longer and is holding the previous year picture in his hands. Only his right
eye is visible inside the full frame. This photograph measures 8x10 inches and its signed and titled in pencil "Harold,1985" in the back.
-The third photograph was taken a year after, in 1986. In this one Harold is not holding the photograph, that lies distant from him. His persona is
collapsing and he is barefoot and skinny. He now is blind from the eye that was so prominent in the previous picture. This photograph
measures 11x14 inches and its signed and titled in pencil "Harold is missing an eye, 1986" in the back.
-Since Jose Tonito became a painter I doubt he will print these again.
medium: Gelatin silver print. Fiber based photographic paper.
Good condition.
