24 HORN STRIPS

These horn strips are used (as seen in the Arrows raised from the Mary Rose etc...) to re-inforce self cut nock ends on Medieval style Arrows. The picture shows the raw strips that can be cut into 4 inserts, then the insert can be glued in place into a shaft ready for trimming and then the final shaft with insert trimmed ready for the string groove to be cut, more information on how to achieve this can be seen in our book on Arrow making found in our ebay .

The strips are individually cut so size varies marginally, approx sizes for the strips are approx 3" long, 1" wide and just over 1/16" thick.  If you cant be bothered with cutting these strips we sell pre-cut inserts which you can find in our shop.   Request a postage discount if buying more than one item.
