VOLVO S60 SE D5 GEARTRONIC
DIESEL AUTO LEATHER
We at Chapelhouse are delighted to offer this superb
Volvo S60 for sale at a price dealers and large retail
outlets just can not compete with, we keep our overheads
low so that we can pass on those savings to you. This
is an opportunity to buy this excellent, economical
powerhouse of a car for little more than trade price,
do not miss out.
Presented in popular metallic silver this Volvo has
arrived with us direct from the fleet of GE Capital
Fleet solutions and is therefore a ONE OWNER car, we
have the V5 in our possession. The car comes with a
comprehensive main dealer history which is supported
by both printout from the fleet company and service
book. Services were all carried out at Stratstone Volvo
in Nott's and was done as follows; 12k, 34k, 48k, 60k,
74k and 88k, the car had new rear pads at the last service.
The MOT on the car is until January 2009 so as you can
see this is a pure retail vehicle with a fantastic provenance,
full recommended retail price is £8995 so despite
ticking all the retail boxes we are asking far less.
We always test drive our cars before listing and I was
looking forward to this one, I collected the car from
our supplier as although I have driven plenty of S60s
I had not driven one with the auto box, I was not disappointed.
With 163bhp this beauty has loads of power, the auto
box is smooth and immediate, no horrible delay when
you put your foot down and on the motorway this big
beast drives as if on rails. The auto box is definitely
in spot on condition and if you want that harder drive
you can flick the car into the manual mode and surge
it through the gears your self. The manual box is fine
too though probably never used that often if the driver
was as lazy as me, it is fun flicking through the box
without using a clutch and you do think you are Lewis
Hamilton at first but I soon switched back to lazy mode.
On the motorway at 80mph you hardly feel like you are
moving and with the power available accelerate and you
will take off again, it really feels great to drive.
I did not discover any noises or rattles that should
not be there and the brakes were just as they should
be, with an MOT until 2009 I would expect no less.
For me this is a fantastic value for money car, it looks
powerful and imposing and that substantial look transfers
it's self to the fact that it has a good safety record,
it performs on that front as it looks. With 163bhp under
the bonnet it is ahead of many of its rivals in power
and yet there are some very run of the mill even boring
alternatives sat on retail outlets for the price we
want for this exceptional, durable beast. They look
good but backed up by the famous Volvo marque are synonymous
with reliability and best of all are remarkable on fuel.
Average consumption for this model is given by the industry
as over 40mpg but on longer journeys that increases
significantly to almost 50mpg, for a car that has so
many assets that is a massive bonus. If you were swapping
to this car from a petrol and you do average annual
miles you could save £1000 per year on fuel costs,
far better in your pocket than Gordon Brown's, worth
thinking about.
With reference to the cars condition we have furnished
you with a huge photo gallery to draw your own conclusions,
however the camera will not pick up very minor blemishes
so we also check those and list them. Having gone around
the car personally all I can find to report is very
minor stone chips to the bonnet, minor scratches to
the rear bumper loading area and two car park dings,
the tyres are good all around and see picture close
ups for alloy wheel condition.
The interior of this Volvo is presented in full black
leather to compliment the silver bodywork and again
has been very well looked after. The leather interior
has been well respected and is very clean, as I always
point out with ex fleet vehicles they have usually accumulated
their higher than average mileage on the motorways of
Britain with just the driver on board consequently they
have interiors that reflect the age of the car and not
the mileage. There are, in fact, many advantages to
these relatively new but higher than average mileage
cars. Firstly these modern diesel engines, especially
these Volvo diesels, will run and run if well serviced
and fleet cars are, but the higher mileage makes the
car much more affordable, this car was well over £23k
when new just three years ago you can buy it for a fraction
of the price. Also cars that spend their lives on motorways
are running at optimum temperatures placing less wear
and tear on the engine and all those component parts,
a car of this quality should be good for 250,000 miles
and will be if properly maintained.
When it comes to extras and creature comforts this car
has plenty, its build quality and dimensions create
a feeling of being inside a car of some substance and
that is further embellished by an excellent array of
extras. Front fog lights, metallic paint, alloy wheels,
full leather interior, multi function steering wheel,
front and back electric windows, electric mirrors, electric
drivers seat with memory settings, cruise control, a
front loading multi CD player set in a user friendly
stereo with great sound clarity, traction control, dual
climate control, Geartronic auto mode, convenient cup
holders and so on it is a massive list.
Overall this is a fantastic car at a very sensible price,
remember this is a ONE OWNER car from new with comprehensive
service history and long MOT into next year, a car with
this provenance at this price is a bargain waiting to
happen, do not miss out.
