Struck in 24 Carat Gold, This 2005 six coin set celebrates Australia's beautiful circulating coins.
Minted in 2005 to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of the second world war this solid gold coin set features three unique designs on the $1, 50 and 20 cent coins entitled Peace, Coming home and rememberance.
Inspired by images from the second world war, Royal Australian Mint designers Wojciech Pietranik and Vladimir Gottwald, have created precious reminders of this important time in Australian History.
Peace - This $1 coin captures the joy and spontaneity of one of Australia's most iconic images taken during victory celebrations at the end of the second world war.
Coming Home - The design on this 20 Cent coin is inspired by an image from the Australian War Memorial of an Austrlian soldier, an ex-prisoner of war returning home and seeing his family after many years apart
Remembrance - Struck on a 50 Cent coin this design captures the sombre and reflective mood of remembrance and of the enormous cost of all conflicts.
This 2005 six coin Gold Set has a Limited Mintage of 650.
