I'm selling my 2005 Aprilia Tuono RS125 as I've passed the test and I'm eyeing up a nice 600. I've owned the bike for approximately 6 months and the last owner had it from new. There is a receipt for £3,500 paid on 10th March 2005 for the bike when new. There are also plenty of receipts for parts and servicing (maintained by Race Base in Belfast). The bike is registered in Northern Ireland but I can make arrangements to meet anyone who is interested from mainland GB.
The bike is derestricted to the full power 33bhp, and goes very well for a 125! There is no hesitation in the lower revs which can be a common problem caused by a faulty cdi unit. It starts first time also, and the battery is fine (lays for weeks at a time and starts without needing charged). The tyres are in very good condition with loads of tread left. In the past 6 months the bike has given no trouble at all, all I've done is fill it with unleaded and the finest 2 stroke oil (Castrol TTS). The whole bike is in great condition, apart from a scratch on the front mud guard, and the exhaust is rusting a bit. These have been taken into consideration in the price. (The bike is valued at near £2k on Parkers website).
The bike isn't due its first MOT until 2009, and is taxed until October 2008, so it really is ready to ride away and will make a great first bike for someone. Being the slightly more upright Tuono version of the legendary RS125, it makes learning for the test a bit easier, however it still has the same power and chassis of the regular RS125 so retains all the fun!
To give an idea of how much it costs to run the bike.. My insurance was £35 per month (with no previous riding experience), £10 fills the tank with petrol and that will easily see 100 miles, a litre of 2 stroke oil costs about £15 and this should last about 500+ miles, and the best part is that it only costs £15 to tax for the full year!
I have priced this at £1600 for a quick sale as I'm not riding it at the moment and could be doing with clearing my overdraft before I think about buying something a bit bigger for myself.
I can be contacted on 07811 359699 to discuss more about the bike and welcome any viewings.
