Here for auction is my Vauxhall/Opel Zafira 2 litre DTI (diesel) Elegance spec MPV. I believe the Elegance was the top of the range when it was imported and registered new in the UK in 2003 by a leasing company, full UK spec.

It has had two previous owners and I have had it for over three years and I bought it at just over three years old from a local Volvo dealer and it came with a clear HPi record and it has had no claims whilst in my ownership. Comes with spare key and manuals. It has covered 92000 miles and has an extensive service/history file with old receipts to prove (only missing one receipt from 2008 when it went to a local garage) including the receipt for the last service at 85009 miles on 14th May 2009 so does not need servicing any time soon. The car is a very versatile member of the family and it benefits from the very useful Flex 7 seating system which allows you to fold one or both of the rear seats in to the floor and fold or stand up the middle row of seats. I have downsized as I no longer need the space nor the seven seats. This car has a service indicator which tells you when it needs to be serviced depending on how you drive it. There are some marks which you would expect for this type of car from family and supermarket car park trips. It has a couple of scratches on the outside, nothing major. The wheels are in great condition with no corrosion that I can see and no gouges from kerbing. Front tyres were replaced this year and have lots of life left in them. Spare tyre is unused. The interior is in good condition apart from some marks to the door panel on the rear passenger interior (kids!!). No tears on seats.

The car has MOT until 8th June 2010, Tax to end of November 2009. Economical car to run, it easily returns over 44mpg on average on mostly around town driving.

As said there are a few marks on the outside and the door trim.

The car is used seldom now and recently the dash light has started to come on when starting up from cold (goes off after driving off) and it runs fine. I did have to go to Warrington and the light came on whilst in cruise at 70mph, slowed down and it went off again. This has never happened driving round town where the car spends almost all of it’s time as I only work 10 minutes from home. I have had the cars computer codes read and it is pointing to glow plug and the egr valve. Glow plugs are on ebay for £20 for the four and the EGR valve can be sourced for about £57 from http://www.carpartsconnexion.com , although various forums suggest cleaning the EGR may stop ir re-occuring. I am not mechanically minded so I would not entertain doing these jobs myself, I would rather list the car as is and reduce the reserve to take in to account the cost of these parts. I have set a reserve well below the average price for a car of this age and spec.

PLEASE NOTE :

I have just taken the car to have the air con re-gassed after someone who came to view the car pointed out it was not getting ice cold, I have been informed by Kwik Fit that it is not holding its charge. They are not sure why it is not holding charge as they only test using a vacuum which they said could be sealing a small leak in the pipe which could be letting the gas out. Please bear this in mind when bidding. I have not used the air con since I have had it although I know it worked when I got the car. The normal heater and blower works as normal it is just the additional cooling of the air con which does not cool the air further.
