This is my best mates’ Freelander that he has had for a couple of years and she is a really great car/4x4. He has been to France and Center Parcs with full loads and the Freelander has coped with it all with ease, no effort whatsoever.
This Freelander is the ES model /edition, which means it is the top of the range with just about all the gadgets you could ask for. Plus he is including several added extra’s (listed below) that he is going to leave with the car. They cost a fortune alone (I know as I sourced them for him). He is only selling now, as they no longer need such a large car and are looking to buy an Audi Estate.
As the car is so nice overall, I thought I would sell her on eBay and add to the excellent cars I have sold in the past (see my feedback). I have borrowed the car a few times, so I can even speak from a driving perspective too.
Ok where do I start. Well, he bought the car 2 years ago after we scoured the UK looking for the right model. The ES is the best one to get, due to the specification list and we found one with only 1 previous owner! Really low miles too. The car is used daily back and fore to work, which is only 4 miles from his house – hence the low miles covered.
Everything is in full working order of course with no ‘running’ issues at all. First registered 1st March 2003, just 66500 miles and very good on the MPG. - 30+ is the average, local driving only! An attractive looking 4x4 car, which immediately draws your attention. Dark Navy is definitely the best colour to get too.
So its time to place another cracking deal on eBay. Here are the details :

Extra’s included :

Genuine Freelander Roof Bars
Body Exterior:
I would describe as Good/Average for the year. There are the usual light scratches here or there (bloody kids)! and maybe the odd stonechip, but nothing through the paintwork (usual car park marks etc). A good polish would sort out many of these. No rust anywhere!
The alloy wheels are in absolutely superb condition. NO Marks and NO Kerb Rash at all. They were an expensive upgrade when the car was new. The tyres are all legal, Rear 50% worn and the fronts will need changing very soon.
Interior:
The interior is in excellent overall condition, with less than expected wear for 6 years old. All very clean and in full working order. The leather seats are also in excellent condition. The only negative is the fading of the passenger side airbag trim, that always seems to happen on Freelanders.
The carpet is very clean and the ‘overmats’ have been looked after.
Everything in the car is in full working order. All electrics work as they did from day one. The Radio and CD Player system work perfectly and the speaker system is top quality.
Engine/Mechanics:
The 1800cc petrol engine is in superb condition and very efficient, low cost tax bracket too. She starts on the button every single time, whatever the weather. The gearbox and running gear have no faults whatsoever and perform great. The engine has only done 66500 miles and performs as it did when new.
Problems:
There simply ain’t any! Just get in and drive.
Little Niggles people don’t tell you about, that you always wish you knew before you bought the car:
I am a very picky person, so I always add this heading. 2 little things I noticed are that the clutch pedal squeaks when pressed (i.e. spring needs WD40) and the air con is working, but could be colder (compared to my car) and needs topping up. I have been over the car with a fine toothcombe and really can not think of anything else to mention. I am that confident of the car – AND I WILL HAPPILY BET – that 99% of other cars on eBay DO have niggles, but their owners will not tell you about them.
Thought I would add this heading as I always seem to find things after I buy a car that I wish I knew in advance.
I hope this shows that there are no surprises here and how honest I try to be.
General:
MOT until end of January 2010
Tax to end of January 2010
The Freelander runs, works and plays exactly as she should in every way. I really have nothing but good things to say about the car. The all round ability of the car is great. Just look at the photos too.
Having taken everything in to account, the reserve price of the car is set really low. Some of these Freelanders go for staggering amounts (in excess of 5K). But he is only looking for a fair price.
To make her an even more attractive deal, if the 'buy it now price' is taken or the finishing price reaches £4000, we will throw in a full tank of Fuel (as long as it has not reached £2 a litre!).
I have placed a ‘Buy It Now’ price of £4000 but please feel free to send any questions through. You never know…………..However, I can see that a lot of true fellow eBayers have been caught out by timewasters, putting stupid bids in and ending the auction - so, I have had to restrict bidding to PayPal users only. This does not mean I will not accept non PayPal bidders, but you will have to email me to confirm your interest and details before bidding.
So that is it. We welcome any trials or questions before buying and I will be more than happy to oblige or reply. There is nothing to hide. I am happy to take additional photos if you would like to see any particular area. We require a 10% non-refundable deposit (I have been bitten in the past too by the vast minority) within 3 days of the close of auction. I do not want to advertise the car locally, as I would rather sell to a fellow eBayer, keep my 100% feedback going and maintain the transfer of excellent deals between us.
You are welcome to email me anytime if you have any questions.
As always, I have been as open and honest as possible with regards to the car (see my feedback on sales!) and am happy to answer any questions.
I am also happy to help out wherever possible with regards to collection of the car and will meet halfway if you have to travel a long distance (as long my travel cost is covered of course and a deposit is paid earlier).
Best of Luck if you decide to bid.
