Presented in metallic silver this Kia has come to us as a quality part exchange which our mechanics have checked and decreed to good for auction. With only two owners on the V5 which we have in our possession this is without doubt a retail car. The car has MOT until the 31st of January 2009, road tax until August and comes with comprehensive service history. The car was serviced as follows; 10k, 25k, 31k, 40k and 51k, we have the service book in our possession. The car is due a service now and we will have this done by our mechanics and stamp the book.
As with all our listings we drive the car first on an extensive test drive and I did about forty miles in this car. For me it was comparable with any other make of car in this class, you get a higher driving position which gives you a greater feeling of road control and with adjustable steering wheel and seats I found it easy to get comfortable despite being 6ft and too fat. The car responds well when asked and the 110bhp is again similar to competitor's offerings, around town it was fine although you will not win any rallies whilst on the motorway it cruised really well and at 80mph it had plenty to spare. Specifically the brakes, clutch and gearbox all felt as they should and as you would expect of a car with average miles, good history and long MOT. With regard to mechanics Kia have a reputation for durability which they back up with extra long warranties when there cars are new as they are confident of the mechanical quality.

The dimensions of the Carens makes it a legitimate competitor of all models that nod towards MPV styling and in many cases it has a greater volume capacity in the load area, despite this with this mileage the Carens is between £1500 and £2500 cheaper than it's more renowned rivals. If you are looking for a family car that will be for all occasions from trips to the dump to taking little Johnny and his pals to footie training this is the most cost effective option around. There is excellent leg and head room in the rear seats if like me your family is growing rather too quickly and the fuel economy is kind too with a combined figure of nearly 40mpg and probably nearer 50mpg on a run.

When it comes to extras Kia have been quite generous with this model and all the modern day essentials are there; metallic paint, fog lights, rear parking sensors and alloy wheels (see pics) are on the outside and inside there is plenty too. Auto climate control, front and back electric windows, electric tilt and slide sunroof, rare in a car with climate control, electric heated door mirrors, rain sensor wipers, radio CD player and more, as i stated a very good spec' for a family car.
We have furnished you with a massive photo gallery to help you form your own opinion of the cars condition but as the camera does not pick out every minor blemish we have inspected the car also. There a few very minor stone chips to the bonnet, a couple of small car park dings to the off side front door and the odd very minor surface scratch which will polish out, as i said all very minor and the overall condition is superb. The tyres are good all round and the pics may convey that, the interior is clean and well preserved.
