2002 BMW K1200 RS

For Sale is my BMW K1200rs. The bike was ex northumbria police as you can tell by the rear boot on the bike so it was serviced regularly as the police had to jump and go when called. I have replace some parts on the bike and give it a full service using genuine parts (not the cheap stuff). The bike itself runs smooth with no problems and starts on the button. It is fitted with ABS and stops excellent much better than my old st1100. The bike also has heated grips fitted but they dont seem to work.

I have fitted a new rear tyre about 500 miles ago and the front still has good tread depth. The exhaust is stainless and has a very long life left in it. I recently purchased a dual seat which will be sold with the bike, but to fit it you will need to purchase a locking mechanism (£10.00 from Motor works). The bike has a single sided swingarm which makes the bike look good even without the Panniers.

The bike seems to be fitted with non standard bars but I have riden both and this is definitely more comfortable. The bike has a electric screen for better protection and i think they forgot but the front flashing headlight is still active...very tempting (ha ha)

The bike has a realistic reserve which is the glasses guide lowest price but is worth so much more.

The BMW K1200RS is almost an ultra-sports tourer . The K1200RS carved its own niche as a superb high-speed distance bike that could carry a pillion and luggage too without breaking a sweat. Radical Telelever front suspension’s no longer novel but still works and build quality remains a strong point so big mileages are very possible.

The BMW K1200RS delivers long range comfort to match many full tourers. The riding position’s adjustable and the ergonomics well thought out and if you spend all day in the saddle this pays off. High level of equipment. Mirrors mounted on the bars look like an afterthought – surely they were meant to be in the indicator pods? At least they work well.
