2002/52 MG TF CONVERTIBLE 135BHP ~ NEW CD ~ NO RESERVE

This car is so much fun to drive, she has style, excellent handling and of course the MG badge heritage. She is in truly excellent and gleaming condition both inside and out, Her MOT does not expire until October 7th 2010 and she is booked in for a service on Thursday for which there will be a stamp in her maintenance book and an invoice. The car also has a good documented service history.

Prior to listing the car I’ve fully valeted her and I’ve tested every single switch and function. Without doubt everything both mechanically and electrically works exactly as it should do (bar 1 issue detailed below) and she drives without a single fault. As well as a service the garage will fit a brand new CD/Radio as the existing one doesn't work.

Unfortunately Scotland isn't blessed with a tropical climate and as soon as I'd finished valeting her it poured with rain. I shall add some pictures with the roof down and the interior when it brightens up.

On a very close walk round inspection there are absolutely no dents what so ever, not even one as big as a match head. There are also no significant scratches or scuffs, she’s in truly excellent condition. The only negatives are a couple of stone chips and very small marks, certainly a lot less than you'd expect. As the pictures suggest, when polished she gleams and I’m very confident the winning bidder will be delighted.

Externally her paintwork is complimented with a navy soft top roof which is also in excellent condition along with the zip out rear window. She has chrome door sills with the MG logo, black side intake grilles, forged alloy fuel filler cap, twin exhaust tailpipes, body coloured bumpers, tinted glass and fog lights, She sits on 15" factory fitted alloys which all have quality tyres all with at least 75% of their tread left. The rear discs appear to be nearly new (20% worn) and the rear approx 50% worn.

Her internal condition is outstanding, she is exceptionally clean and there is no damage to report at all. Her seats are very easy to get comfortable in, the steering wheel moves up and down and all the switches are easily to hand. The chrome trim gives a real sporty feel. Storage comes in the form of a glove box, centre box and rear box along with cup-holders. She also has electric windows, electric mirrors, an analogue clock plus a brand new radio / CD player.

For safety the TF is fitted with speed sensitive PAS, driver’s airbag and seatbelt pre-tensioners.

For security she is fitted with remote central locking, a perimetric anti theft alarm and locking wheel nuts.

Performance wise the TF is a real driver's car, incredibly responsive and a real joy to own. The 4 cylinder, 16 valve engine produces 135BHP, achieves 0 to 60mph in just 8.2 seconds and has a top speed of 127mph. Running around town the car achieves 39mpg and more on a long run. They are an insurance group 12 and 12 months tax costs £175. The 1.8 135BHP is a so much more fun than 1.6 115BHP.

As mentioned the car is booked in for a service on Thursday for which there will be a stamp in her book and an invoice. There are 5 stamps including the original dealers stamp in her Maintenance Book.

I have the full V5, the MOT slip, all of the handbooks, the MG wallet, the stamped service book and security wheel locking nut.

I am and have been an aircraft engineer for over 25 years but cars are my passion. I've been buying cars from auction for over 20 years and use my experience, skills and knowledge to purchase the very best. I've a keen eye for detail and ensure that my cars are all washed, de-bugged, de-tarred and polished with Formula One resin. I then de-carbon the wheels plus treat all of the trim and tyres. Internally I pay the same to attention to detail when valeting. I've built up very good working relationship with two local mechanics and after I've driven the cars for a few hundred miles plus tested every function / switch to ensure that they work I put the cars through my mechanic’s garages for MOTs, servicing and any maintenance as required.

I realise that winning bidders sometimes travel a long way to pick up my cars and I always do my conscientious upmost to ensure that my descriptions genuinely reflect the car so that there are no surprises and more importantly that a safe and uneventful journey home will be had.
