Jaguar is one of the most emotive car brands in Great Britain, with a tradition for producing true luxury cars with a sporting edge, their very own style and of course huge personality, these cars have been lusted after by most of us at some time in our lives and when compared to the "white goods" characters of their competitors it is not hard to see why. The main car that enthusiasts lust after is the stunning Jaguar XJ8 and the Daimler range of saloons, available in short or long wheelbase forms, the styling can only be described as beautiful from every angle, it mixes many years of Jaguar traditions and could never be mistaken for any other car, the interior is the true British "gentlemans club" theme, with fine quality soft hides, gleaming walnut veneers and chrome finishings everywere, but look deeper and there is up to date equipment and instruments lurking in amongst it all. The drive of a Jaguar XJ8 is superb, with a choice of ultra smooth but powerful V8 engines mated to a five speed automatic gearbox, and the usual mix of excellent handling and poise combined with flawless ride quality, making these a true luxury cars that can cosset their occupants on a long journey. The long wheelbase model adds an extra four inches of legroom in the rear compartment, the roof line is also very slightly higher, plus the nearside rear passenger can operate the front seat from behind with a switch built into the rear of the seat (see pics) so that they can have optimum comfort and legroom, so if you are somebody who likes to be driven or want to make the kids feel like film stars then this is the model to go for as it is notably bigger inside.  Forget the old horror stories of reliability and rust problems, that has long been left behind, a Jaguar is as good a car as any of it's German competitors but it has twice the character, these cars will rack up huge mileages with ease and even a high mileage example makes a very good purchase as long as it has been looked after.  These cars ae now available for a fraction of their original price, you can buy an early 1998 XJ8 for under £3000 but beware, these cars need a good service history, buy one without and like any prestige car, you could be investing in a moneypit that will bring you misery rather than joy, buy the right car and you wont ever regret it one bit!

We are extremely pleased to offer this beautiful Jaguar XJ8 4.0 V8 Executive long wheelbase Automatic, presented to you in metallic grey with dark charcoal leather upholstery which is piped in grey on the seats, it has had two previous owners and has covered 75000 miles which is backed by a full Jaguar main dealer service history from day one right up to January this year. The car has come to us as a part exchange from a large main dealers and has therefore been HPI checked and is all clear of outstanding finance agreements and total loss accident damage of all categories.  This car is in excellent condition throughout with no major marks on the bodywork,  or to the sumptuous interior, being the Soverign it has an excellent list of standard equipment, plus a very desirable option in the shape of a factory fitted satelite navigation system, this is built into the stereo and shows directions on the form of arrows on the screen and voice commands, the headunit also controls the built in phone housed in the centre console, so full hands free is possible with information displayed on the stereo unit.  This car runs the superb 4.0 V8, if you have driven a 3.2 and thought it went well then this will really put you back in the seat, the 4.0 offers another 50bhp over the 3.2 and you can really feel it, and it will barely notice at the petrol pump either as it is notably torquier than the smaller lump.  As we have already mentioned, the long wheelbase is a rare car and will always make that bit more money than the standard car, according to CAP black book trade guide this car has a retail forecourt value of around £8250, we sell all of our cars on here with no reserve, this way YOU decide how much it is worth, rather than being put off by a grossly overinflated screen price that will make you run a mile!  so expect this car to be cheaper than the forecourt retail price, but trust us that it will be every bit as good as the more expensive car, leaving you with a nice bit of change, now let us stop waffling and let this fine car sell itself!

  EXTERIOR & INTERIOR CONDITION   The whole car is superb, it appears to have been well looked after with the usual tiny marks on the outside that you would expect on any used car, although nothing major, and the interior is almost like new, we have had the car fully valeted throughout so the inside is fresh and clean and the outside is gleaming!  starting our appraisal at the front end; there are the inevitable stonechips to the front bumper and bonnet, although nothing major or anything that stands out, there is a very faint scuff and some crazing of the paint on the drivers side bumper corner, this is very small and can only be seen very close up, there is also a small area of chippy paint (see photo 1). once again these are very small and do not stand out to bed.  The drivers side is all good, the drivers door edge has some chipping to it that we will touch in with the correct colour.  The rear end is all straight with the exception of a chip on the drivers side bumper corner (see photo 2), and a small blister by the rear window rubber on the passenger side.  The passenger side is all decent with only some chips on the rear door edge, but no other marks worthy of mention.  The door mirror cases have the usual stonechips (see photos 3 & 4), the roof panel is unmarked.  The alloy wheels are all in good order, there are the usual light kerb scratches here and there, and the odd very small corrosion spot, although nothing warranting  refurbishment yet (see photos 6-9), the wheels carry all good Pirelli P6000 tyres all round with 7mm of treadwear remaining in the fronts, and 6 & 4mm on the rears.  The windscreen, front lights, rear lights, mirrors and all other glass are free of cracks and chips.
The charcoal leather interior has never been smoked in and is fabulous to look at and sit in with no undue wear or tear to be found anywere, the seats are in fabulous condition with no wear or tear to be found on them anywhere, the carpets have been protected by original fitted carpet overmats from new, so the carpets underneath are pretty much untouched, the mats themselves are in very good order and clean. The headlining, door panels, wood veneers and all other trim are in superb condition with no marks worthy of mention.  The boot is in super condition, it is clean and totally free of any wear or tear, the multiplay cd and navigation control system are located on the left handside, the fire extinguisher, first aid kit and warning triangle are also located in the boot. The space saver spare wheel is located under the boot floor along with the jack and tools (see photo 5).    All interior electrical equipment ie: climate control, all seats, windows, mirrors, locking, stereo, navigation, instruments etc etc are working perfectly with no problems whatsoever to report.

MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL CONDITION

 The 4.0 V8 engine starts first time everytime hot or cold, it idles smoothly and revs freely to the red line with no hesitations, knocks, rattles or smoke and sounds fantastic!, there aren't any oil or coolant leaks and the exhaust system is gas tight. The 5 speed automatic gearbox goes straight into forward or reverse gears with no delays or hard thumps, it changes gear smoothly with no hesitations, "hunting" for gears or slipping, the sport mode works perfectly making kickdown more responsive and holding the gears up to the red line, the final drive, propshaft and driveshafts are free of any vibrations or whines and operate fine. The power steering is smooth and precise with no judders or pump whines, the suspension is in superb order and free of any sloppiness or loud noises. The ABS brakes stop the car in a straight line without any steering wheel wobbles, pedal judders, or undue noises and appear to have plenty of service left in them.

If you are looking for a proper example of a Jaguar then we are positive your search is over, as this car should tick all the boxes condition wise and also in terms of specification, there is nothing that needs doing to this car in any way so it's new owner just need to put some tax on it and drive away!  Remember these long wheelbase cars are hard to get hold of and with this spec and history this car should be quitre sought after so don't leave your bidding until the last moment!..........what are you waiting for?!
