Vehicle Description

A very sensible and well maintained Volvo V70 2.4 S Estate in gunmetal grey metallic with just over 102,000 miles on the lock which has recently been serviced including changing the cambelt and has a long MOT to April 2009.

 

This is a well equipped example with cruise control, air conditioning, CD player, alloy wheels, message centre, all-round electrics & the full complement of Volvo airbags and safety systems.

 

The car is in pretty good condition - there are some marks which you would expect on a 51-plate car but overall is very smart looking. There is a long scratch down the side of the nearside rear quarter which has previously been painted in and a smaller (~7cm) long one on the passenger door but other than those there is not a lot to mention. We reckon it would cost about £100 to remove the scratch which we can arrange if asked.

 

The interior is in very good condition showing very little wear and everything seems to work OK. As usual with well maintained Volvo's it drives very well indeed and would provide ideal safe sensible family transport.

 

Tyres/Wheels

The 16" alloy wheels are good condition  - please see the pictures for details. The tyres are all good with 4-5mm on each of them.

 

 

History

The car was supplied new in September 2001 by Murray Volvo. It has had two owners from new. The service book has stamps at 6261, 18463, 30875, 45776, 56398, 67388, 79439 & 101906 miles. The last service included changing the cambelt. The car has just been MOT'd so the MOT is valid to 8 May 2009.

 

We have V5 (logbook), MOT, service book, full manual pack & 1 remote key.

Scratch n/s rear qtr, scratch passenger door, odd mark here and there commensurate with miles..

Bidders who do not comply and do not complete the transaction without good reason will risk having negative feedback left. We stand by our description of the car and describe it honestly – selling cars on ebay is a small part of our business and we frankly don’t need the hassle of upset ebay customers. If you are the winning bidder and find a major discrepancy between the car and description you are under no obligation to proceed, deposits will be retuned and costs refunded. Winning bidders will in all cases be given ample opportunity to check the car matches the description and a test drive before completing the sale.

Warranty: On a car sold via ebay auctions we offer that should a car suffer a major mechanical failure within 45 days or 2000 miles (whichever the sooner) of the engine, drivetrain or gearbox we will repair, make a contribution to the repair or refund as appropriate.  It must be emphasised this covers mechanical failure of major components only and does not apply to wear and tear items (brakes, batteries, exhausts etc.) or any part which could reasonably be expected to have reached the end its working life at the age and mileage and should in no way be considered a substitute for a full warranty. Any cosmetic deficiencies are the responsibility of the buyer to check at time of collection and in no circumstances will any claims be considered for cosmetic deficiencies noticed after sale completion. There are many companies who will provide a comprehensive warranty direct at a very reasonable price and we recommend purchasing one if you require a full used car warranty.

We are a VAT registered, DVLA registered motor trade company established for 22 years which takes customer service seriously and wants to maintain our reputation not decrease it.

We check and test drive our cars carefully but please remember these are used cars and account should be made for fair wear and tear based on age and mileage. A description such as “in very good condition for age and mileage” means just that and it should be self evident that a 200,000 mile 6 year old car should be judged on different terms to that of a 2 year old one with 30,000 miles.

All cars should be considered “HPI clear” as far as Outstanding Finance, National Mileage Register and Insurance Total Loss are concerned unless specified otherwise. Any car we sell on ebay is owned outright by ourselves – we do not act as selling agents.

We will not negotiate the final ebay sale price so please do not bid on a car assuming that you will be able negotiate it down. If in any doubt please contact us before bidding for a check report on the car which lists what we do and don’t check.

All extras, such as delivery, road tax etc. must be paid in full before collecting/taking delivery of the car.

We will take part exchanges but please bear in mind that we will only normally offer trade price against vehicles being sold by ebay auction format. Please contact us with complete details of any car including make and model, year and registration, service history, MOT status, tax status, condition and mileage.

Upon completion of the auction, a £100 deposit must be paid by Paypal, credit/debit card or other agreed means. Contact MUST be made within 24 hours of the auction ending and the sale completed within 7 days unless agreed beforehand.

Delivery is available. Please contact us with your Postcode for a quote. If you wish us to tax the car for you this must be paid for in advance and we must be in possession of an original valid insurance certificate in your name a minimum of 48 hours before collection. The car can be collected from our offices in Colchester, Essex. We can collect buyers from Colchester Station (approximately 45 minutes travel time from London) or, providing advance notice is given, from Stansted Airport.

The car will only be released against cleared funds. It is the buyers responsibility that the car meets the requirements of the Road Traffic Act in terms of insurance, tax & MOT after purchase. All vehicles should be considered roadworthy at the time of sale unless specifically stated otherwise in the description.
