Exterior
There are a few stone chips on the front and both sides of the car (nothing unusual for this type of car) but nothing major.
My car is always washed with a lambs wool mitt and never with a sponge to stop scratches, neither has it visited a car wash or those dodgy cleaners at the supermarket!
In the summer last year the car spent a full day at a detailers and when it was finished it was pristine and looked stunning, below is the company that did the work and highly recommended. It costs around £400 depending on the work done.

As you can see from the photo it has a small piece of damage (see pic 7);
The rear was done last year in a supermarket car park, someone or should I say something has clipped the rear cam shell and didn't stick around but the damage isn't major just a small crack and doesn't stop the car being driven. I'm guessing it was a trolley as the crack is very, very small. I've had the a quote for the work and its around £400 inc VAT.
The car is factory standard and the 135 is the standard upgrade delivered by Lotus.
The 135 sounds great compared to the standard elise.
The 135 Upgrade:
It features a ported cylinder head, the cast aluminium inlet system, introduced a stainless steel sports silencer and reprogrammed ECM to increase the power. A low restriction airbox has also been added to ensure that maximum revs can be achieved in each gear. The 135 upgrade kit gives the Elise 135hp at 6200 rpm and 175Nm of torque at 4850 rpm, 0-62 mph in 5.4 secs, 0-100 mph in 14.9 secs and a maximum speed of 129 mph.
The price is £1750 for the kit, £400 for the labour and £500 for the Lotus approved sports exhaust, making a total of £2650.

The 135 Upgrade
It features a ported cylinder head, the cast aluminium inlet system, introduced a stainless steel sports silencer and reprogrammed ECM to increase the power. The standard 1.8 K-series engine remains but Lotus and added their own Lotus K4 ECU and on-board diagnostics system to ensure EU compliance until at least 2004. With 120bhp and a close ratio gearbox as standard (the larger 17" wheels negate some of this effect), it reaches 0-60 in approximately 5.6 seconds and 125mph. The gearing provides a 0-100mph time of approximately 17.5secs and mph/1000rpm figures for the gears are; 1st 6.1, 2nd 10.1, 3rd 13.5, 4th 17.1, 5th 20.9. The speed limiter operates at 6950rpm. At 80mph in 5th this equates to 3830rpm which is not quite as relaxed as the mk I's 3300rpm but is not quite as manic as the 4000rpm of the 111S.
The normalised torque at the wheels against speed and thus show the optimium gear change points. These can be summarised as:
- Go up to the rev limiter in first.
- Change up from 2nd at 6500rpm (63mph)
- Change up from 3rd at 6300rpm (82.5mph)
- Change up from 4th at 6170rpm (103mph)
