"Olive Tree"

Native to the coastal areas of the eastern mediterranean region, Asia and parts of Africa.

An evergreen, tree or shrub with pointed, leathery, silvery green leaves which form a rounded head of foliage.  Young trees have a stem/trunk with smooth grey bark which becomes typically gnarled and twisted as it matures and rarely reaches more than 7 - 9 metres in height when fully mature.

Racemes of fragrant, small, delicate creamy-white flowers are borne from the axils of the stems during the summer months and are followed by edible green fruits which ripen to black in the Autumn.

An excellent specimen plant that will bring a Mediterranean feel to any garden, patio or conservatory.  Makes an outstanding statement when multiple plants are used to frame an entrance to your home or garden.

Height  :  7 - 9 metres

Position  :  Prefers full sun to grow & fruit to it's full potential/sheltered position

Soil  :  Prefers a moisture retentive, free-draining soil

Flowers  :  Racemes of fragrant, small, delicate, creamy-white flowers

Uses  :  Specimen plants, Olive groves, focal points when used to frame an entrance, tubs/containers/pots, patios, balcony's, conservatories etc.

Hardiness  :  Relatively hardy, can withstand some frosts, however, in colder climates, if grown in a container it can be brought into a conservatory, sunroom or glasshouse during the winter months and extreme weather conditions.

The plants that you will receive are well established healthy, 19cm plants of approximately 3ft in height.  They are single stemmed with beautiful rounded heads of foliage.  They will be packaged to a very high standard to ensure their safe arrival to yourself.
