re DOXFORD ESTATE in NORTHUMBERLAND

THESE ARE TWO OLD DOCUMENTS HAND WRITTEN ON HEAVY PAPER CONCERNING THE DOXFORD ESTATE, NORTHUMBERLAND.
THE FIRST IS A 14-PAGE ABSTRACT OF TITLE GIVING INFORMATION ABOUT DOCUMENTS BETWEEN 1592 AND 1736. ONE OF THE DOCUMENTS QUOTED, DATED 1637, MENTIONS THAT THE PREMISES AT DOXFORD "were held of the Earl of Northumberland by Knights service".
THE SECOND IS A COPY WRITTEN IN 1780 OF AN INDENTURE OF 1770 BETWEEN ALEXANDER BROWN OF DOXFORD AND JAMES HENDERSON OF DOXFORD NEWHOUSES. MUCH OF THE INDENTURE IS TAKEN UP WITH DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS OF THE MANNER IN WHICH THE LESSEE IS TO DEAL WITH THE LAND AND GIVES GREAT INSIGHT INTO FARMING METHODS OF THE DAY.
Condition. The edges of the abstract are somewhat ragged and it is a little age browned. The other document is in excellent condition and both have the usual folding creases. Payment. I am happy to accept personal cheques in sterling, euros or US dollars but will wait for them to clear before posting goods. Paypal also accepted but only in sterling.
Shipping. In addition to bid price, the buyer will also pay £2.50 uninsured postage and packing to the UK and £5 to other destinations.
