History

The highball, or Collins, glass is traditional used for iced drinks containing fruit juices. The tall and slim shape of the glass was regarded by bartenders around the world as being the best way to show off the mixture of colours in their signature drinks.
The name highball is thought to have originated in St louis, around the turn of the 19th century. As with most famous beverage glasses. The highball inherited its name from the drink with which it was associated. Originally named the “ball back”. After a signal used by the railway worker to speed up the engineers, the highball was a whisky and water combination. Served in a simple tall glass.
