Forget the old fashioned STATIC and ROTARY phase converters !

The old fashioned STATIC and ROTARY phase converters are the most basic type of converters, they are not much good at all with the STATIC being large and heavy as per the right hand picture above and this STATIC type will oftern have problems running modern motors and when they do run them at all they are not at all smooth and you will have a loss of power and our customers have oftern burnt out small motors using a STATIC type converter !, Keep well clear of them !,

The ROTARY PHASE CONVERTER is a big and bulky as can be seen in the left picture above its an item thats makes loads of racket in the workshop and uses loads of power even before you start your machines and even then the power output is not up to the most demanding tasks, both these types of converters are so simple you can make your own if you want to with plans on how to do this being sold all the time on EBAY but I would not bother as you are sure to be unhappy with the results once you have it up and running !,

You are looking at a 2 HP IP65 220 Volts Single Phase to 415 Volts 3 Phase inverter unit with inbuilt mains filter,

This totaly enclosed unit has a built in SPEED POT, OFF/FORWARD/REVERSE switch and a MAINS POWER SWITCH and is waterproof having an IP65 rating,

It is designed to run a three phase motor from a single phase supply it also lets you control the speed from 1 RPM to twice the motors normal speed either by using the inbuilt POT, this is fantastic if you have the unit connected to say a lathe or milling machine as you have exact control over the machines speed, the max and min settings are programmable, you can also reverse the motor using the inbuilt switch,

It features a programmable SOFT START to start up the motor in a preset time and this reduces the shock load on a machines belts/gearboxes and also reduces the power surge on the mains that can blow fuses without the SOFT START, the motor stop time can also be programmed to stop a chuck within a few seconds if required using the braking function,

This unit will work with any type of 3 phase 415V motor including DUAL SPEED motors and enable you to run them from a single phase 220 Volts supply at FULL POWER,

If you have checked with Drives Direct before you purchase an item that its compatble with your application and for any reason it does not work to your satisfaction we will do our best to solve the problem for you, if this is not possable we will offer you a FULL REFUND(excluding P&P) upon safe return of the item to us,
