Welcome to the "château".....

....brimming with delicious vintage French shabby chic treasures.
~~~***~~~
I have been looking through some old boxes I have had packed away for years looking for quirky pieces to use as Christmas decorations this year. I have unearthed some charming period pieces I had forgotten I had truffled away!
Dating from the 1880s this pair of gorgeous antique French mounts are wonderful quality.
They have quite a good weight andI think they are a white metal or brass that has have this stunning old bronze gold patina. They are solid and cannot be bent so perhaps not tole....in any event they are simply gorgeous!
The bronze patina has taken on a rich warm colour with the passage of time and I have left the mounts just as I found them, although they would polish brighter if required.
The casting is excellent and the details are delicious. Each acanthus leaf scroll is finely detailed to create depth.
The mounts measures:
Width 4 and 3/4" (12cms)
Height 3" (7.5cms)
A superb period piece for any decorative project.
I HAVE SIMILAR MOUNTS FROM THE SAME LOCATION IN MY other items.
