This antenna has been designed to increase the range of any type of wireless equipment that works within the 2.4ghz frequency band i.e all wireless cameras used in the United Kingdom and Europe, as well as for use on the 23cm amateur band i.e. amateur satellite and 24cm amateur television.
This antenna has real 'gain'( 14dbi) this is because most of the signal is concentrated in one direction. Don't be fooled by advertisements for omni-directional antennas i.e. antennas that radiate the wireless signal in all directions and are advertised to have 'gain' (some claim to have about 8db or so!) THE ONLY WAY TO OBTAIN USEFUL GAIN FROM AN ANTENNA IS TO USE A DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA!
This particular antenna uses a wave-guide type construction to obtain very useful improvements over the usual type of antenna provided with wireless cameras for example. The extended range is obtained because the signal is being concentrated towards the direction that you want instead of being wasted by being sent in all directions (we managed to receive good quality video from a small wireless camera at a range of two miles 'line-of-sight'!)
The antenna can be either mast mounted, as can be seen from the photo's, but please note that my swan receiver is not for sale, or hand held for 'portable' operations.
The antenna is supplied fitted with EITHER a standard SMA plug for connection to a wireless camera etc OR a 'reverse-male' SMA plug, for connection to most wireless routers PLEASE STATE THE TYPE OF CONNECTION THAT YOU REQUIRE WHEN ORDERING.
